I am a cellist and vocalist with 20 years of training in classical, jazz, and world musics.

I give cello lessons and collaborate with other musicians whenever possible, in and around Washington, DC.

What I love most about music is how it brings meaning to so many aspects of life. Singing in the shower, jamming in your car, dancing at a wedding, playing in a band – all draw you straight into the moments that embody how great it is to be human. Whether it’s exhilarating or inescapably sad, whether you are in another world or intensely in the present, humans are so complicated, and music helps us work it all out.

This is why I’m interested in music that marks special events, music for dancing, and all of the many ways there are to approach music learning.
